Yes, I actually did the japanese towel exercise for 10 days! I did this more to see how my back and hips would feel after the gentle stretching applied in the position. And periods of relation throughout the day are always helpful for stress reduction.

  1. Hi friends! This video presents the science regarding the Japanese Towel Method, based on my expert opinion. I will no longer be replying to anyone who believes they (or their sister, cousin, best friend) lost weight with the Japanese Towel Method. That is simply NOT possible. Lying on the floor for 5 minutes a day does not burn additional calories and therefore cannot help you with weight/fat loss.

    It's irrelevant that (as many people have pointed out) I don't have much belly fat to lose. I was sharing the science of how fat loss works and it works the same for everybody. If the Method actually helped reduce your belly fat levels (It doesn't) then it would do that in everyone, irrespective of how much fat they have to lose.

    As I mention in the video, it may improve your back pain or posture if you have specific muscle imbalances where stretching those areas helps. If someone feels it helped them with weight loss, it's because they inadvertently did something else (perhaps without even noticing!) like increased their activity levels or slightly changed their eating/drinking.

  2. For me, when I put the rolled towel under my back, at nighttime,I suddenly fall asleep until at dawn.
    It is my sleeping pill ha ha ha.
    And I notice my belly became flat and my butt become nice in shape even my legs.
    I am already 58 and they call me sexy mama.
    Anyway just for fun but I benefit on it.

  4. Thank you, today will be 30 days 07/15/2021 I did it ONLY once a day for 5 mins and religiously but NO results as some claims.
    I never heard 3 times a day for 5mins! Lol. Thanks for this video, now I know I’m not crazy.
    I told myself, why not try it, it won’t hurt, at least I will get a stretch. I have bad gut issues. Lots of bloating 🙄 which makes me sad. I tried so many things for that but nothing seems to help.

  5. It helps if your hips are not alligned with the rest of your body. When your hips aren’t aligned , It causes your back to arch in a way where your belly fat pushes out and if you slouch it makes it worse 🥲 so it won’t make you lose weight but it will make your belly smaller by stretching that fat across your abdomen rather than letting it collect in your lower belly due to bad posture

  6. Everything you say, Ivana, makes perfect sense, I almost wish you were right, since this leaves me with an unsolved mystery!
    There’s only one problem: the method actually works! INCLUDING a slight fat loss around the navel..
    (from someone who is cycling, heavy deadlifting/squatting and doing yoga on a regular basis)
